Yesterday Adam and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary! What a fast 15 years! It seems just a short time ago and yet a long time ago that we held our wedding on one of the hottest days of the summer - with the air conditioning not working well in the building.
We kept our celebration simple - dinner at home and then all 4 of us headed to Andy's for dessert. We tried to watch the movie that we saw on our first date (Father of the Bride) but we only have it on VHS (our VCR isn't working) and Wal Mart didn't have it in stock to purchase on our way home from Andy's. It also wasn't available for streaming from Netflix.
As my "present" to Adam, I did a deep clean of our room and now it feels twice as big (but the living room feels half the size it was before).
In honor of 15 years, here are 15 things I love about my husband....
1. He wants me to stay at home, not in the workplace (although we both would love the $ - but not me being gone all day). He works hard each day, slaying those dragons, so that I can stay home.
2. He loves me and is patient with me.
3. He makes me go to Time Out for Women every year it's close by.
4. In spite of all encouragement to try a different haircut, he still has the same haircut as when I met him in 1991.
5. He has a never ending strength and endurance.
6. He likes to vacuum and mop.
7. He loves our daughters and it wasn't even a discussion if adoption was an option for us. It was part of our initial discussions when we decided to start a family.
8. He accepts every church calling when it is extended and then serves to his best ability.
9. He encourages me to write the "great American novel" even though he's never read anything I've written.
10. I love that when he snores, my simple touch on his arm generally causes him to relax and stop snoring.
11. When we travel, he does most of the driving so I can work on knitting/crochet projects.
12. He is finally beginning to understand my love of the water. (I want to live near water; he's always wanted to live near mountains but is starting to like the water too.)
13. He is the one that decided we needed 2 cats, not me.
14. He helps me color my hair.
15. Once we're both in bed, he'll get up to go to the kitchen and get me a drink so I can stay off my feet.
I LOVE Adam and am grateful to be married to this worthy Priesthood holder. I'm thankful we get to spend eternity together!
